Re: New Music - Concert programmes



A couple more suggestions worthy of consideration for openers are:

Jubilee Prelude (Sparke) - a good 5/6 minute work
Gaudete (Rodney Newton) - perhaps a little on the short side but a good
opener or intro for second half and you could use the cornets from a
balcony with great effect.
Backdraft Theme - if you want your percussion to star.

These may not be the classics or extended works but they are great for
musical impact and do lend themselves to visuals without sacrificing the
music
