Well, personally I've found that as /my/ theoretical understanding of music increases, I am able to find much more to listen to in pieces and so enjoy them/dislike them more. Though some things I don't have to analyse too deeply to dislike, the Spice Girls for instance :) I'm not sure if I can logically extrapolate my understanding of music changing with increased knowledge to Jo R. Dunsberg, as my logic exam was yesterday and I've forgotten it all now. -- Alastair Wheeler Euphonium & Trombone Fundamental Brass Bass Trombone City of Oxford Brass Band alastair@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx http://www.new.ox.ac.uk/~alastair "I am following my fish" -- unsubscribe or receive the list in digest form, mail a message of 'help' to listserver@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
