Dear Fellow Brass Band performers and enthusiasts,

This is my first post to the Brass Band List.  Since January, I have be
en
playing euphonium with the Prairie Brass Band, which is based in Chicag
o,
Illinois, USA.  This has been my first introduction to Brass Bands, and
 I
have fallen quickly in love with it!

As you may have heard, the Prairie Brass Band won the Challange Section
 at
NABBA this past Apil in Lexington, Kentucky.   Our next concert is Augu
st 2nd
in Arlington Height, IL (a Chicago subrub), and I will be one of the fe
atured
performers playing the solo from the Irish air, Carrickfergus.

My personal background:  I am 33 years old and have played euphonium fo
r
enjoyment  for 24 years.  I have played with many groups including  the

Cavaliers Drum and Bugle Corps, the Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra, the
Gargoyle Brass Ensemble, and with wind ensembles at Miami University, H
arvard
University, Boston College, and the University of Chicago.
NOW MY QUESTION:

I am vacationing shortly in KENT, UK (specifically, near Sittingbourne)
.  I
will be there from June 26 until July 3rd, and am looking for any Brass
 Band
Competitions or performances that might be taking place during this tim
e.

If you know of any perfomances/competitions within a reasonable driving

distance from Sittingbourne, please senf me an email (at
