You've only just realised this? Where have you been for the past umpteen years?! >The amount of ill-feeling between bands and therefore people is utterly intolerable! >I predict that within 10 years banding will destroy itself..... Hurrah! Then we get down to the real business of making music, of which 'banding' is the direct antithesis. >(One of the) main things needed to progress (is) a feeling of joining together and >becoming a universal banding area with common goals and aspirations is the >other.Sadly we do not offer that in our area, and never will. I'm not sure that having 'common goals and aspirations' are quite desirable, or indeed necessary for progress, but you are right that such things are not offered. However, I understand that these are matters for which Brass Band Federation was recently formed. Whether or not it gets much support from bands at large remains to be seen. >The weekends Festival on a musical level went very well indeed.... Then that's all that matters.
