I agree with this.  I got a brochure listing all mouthpieces made by
Schilke from Phil Parkers in London, and there is a brief explanation of
mouthpiece design in it.  When choosing a Schilke mouthpiece there are 4 or
5 different dimensions to consider.  Certain combinations (the more popular
?) are listed in the brochure and cost around 35 UKP (for cornet), if you
want a combination that is not listed in the brochure Phil Parker's told me
that it costs around 75 UKP and there is a 12 week delivery time (as they
are custom made in the US).  I wouldn't be without my Schilke 10B4C cornet
mouthpiece, its the best I've played on.
