In response to the question about why the Bass Trombone was not put in Treble Clef is, I believe, that the original Bass Trombone was pitched in G and was not easy to transposde and write inti Treble Clef. It has also been suggsted that in the early days the G Trombone did not require to learn treble clef beacuse they only needed 1st and 7th position which were usded alternately!
