Having played at Manchester contest last week I was very surprise to see
the number of bands that had withdrawn and some cases at very late
stages.  Upon arrival at the contest there were four bands in our
section and yet 15 minutes later there were only 3 !

Is this happening everywhere ?  In my opinion it makes the hard work
that people put into this events wasted although very appreciated by
those who attend.
