Results from the Belgian championships

List,

here are the results from the Belgian championships held at Brussels, 29
november 1998.

Championship section:
1. Midden-Brabant (Benny Wiame) 550 points out of 600
2. Willebroek (Frans Violet) 549/600
3. Buizingen (Luc Vertommen) 53?/600
4. Kortrijk (Lieven Maertens) ?

1st Section
1. Metropole (Guy Audenaert) 504/600
2. Noord-Limburg (?) ?

3 adjudicators (Roy Newsome, Geoffrey Brand and Jappie Dijkstra) in separated
boxes giving each 100 points to test-piece and 100 for the own-choice. Being
separated the points were quite different with the absolute suprise one (who?)
giving 86 to Willebroek (3rd place) in the test-piece while the other gave 92
and 93 (1st place). It cost them the title. With 87 points (still 5 points less
then the other adjudicator) they would have got the title.

Willebroek should have won no doubt (to me). Technique, tempi, sound, balance,
clearness,... all were better than say Midden-Brabant, who were poor to me and
sounded more like a brass orchestra.
Unbelievable results and a real pitty for Willebroek.

So we have a Masters result in Belgium too.

I will send more details about the points and the different points per
adjudicator and per piece later on.

Having a bad monday and an even worse sunday.
