Hello everyone

Another similar incident with my band, Whitburn.

Peter Parkes was conducting in the 1979 Edinburgh Festival contest (his 
first year with Whitburn) on James Cook- Circumnavigator.  Danny Dunlop on 
2nd trombone got a bit over-zealous at the (in)famous trombone trio bit and 
catapulted his slide into Peter's shins!  I doubt if Peter ever had to 
conduct Black Dyke, Faireys, etc with one hand while picking up a trombone 
slide and handing it back to a sheepish trombone player!

We still won that day and it didn't put Peter off too much as he's still 
the professional conductor almost 20 years later.
