At this time of year, a lot of organisation look back and review the year.
It strikes me that we could do something and use the results to publicise
the use of the Internet in the world of Brass Bands.
The idea is a set of Annual Awards on the following lines:

Best Band Website of the Year
Best Band Association Web Site of the Year
Most positive contribution to promoting the movement on the Internet
Best Trade Site on the Internet
Best Commercial Use of a Brass Band Web Site

Winners to receive a suitable "trophy" to display on their site

Voting by email with winners announced in the Brass Band Chat Room on a
given date.

This would give us all a chance to do a bit of communual "back slapping" but
more seriously, reward those who have done their bit to promote the movement
in a positive way on the web. The publicity from the band press wouldn't go
amiss either.

Perhaps list members could express a view asap - I'm happy to administer it.
