Surely all the points made by John Davis can be resolved by communication
between the contest organisers and the bands about what exactly is being
provided. I don't think that speeding up is a poor excuse when bands who may
have left their bandrooms in the early hours of the morning are asked to play
late at night and much time has been spent in the intervening period ferrying
percussion instruments on and off stage.
