Well at one time covering the walls with egg boxes was thought cool but I
think fire regulations will stop that! You can get rid of the linoleum floor
and put carpet down.
You can also line the walls with acoustic tiles backed with rockwool or
similar but this will reduce the size and be quite costly.
Multiple layers of carpet might not be bad either....
