Granddad,

We applied for lottery money for instruments and were one of the 2 per cent
of brass band applications that were unsuccessful.  So don't ask me for any
tips!  As for charitable status, why is it helpful to be registered as a
charity once land is owned?  We do own our bandroom, so we would be very
interested.
