Ah well that begs the question what exactly is meant by 'the last big name
cornet player?' Do you mean the one who is most well known or the one who plays
best?

I suspect the latter huh? If so, it seems that JS is the winner - does that
mean that we measure players  these days against 'the ones we used to know' I
wonder? A case of - 'things were much better in my day.....'

I am playing Devil's Advocate here I know, but if JS IS the last 'big name'
that suggests that the last say 20 years have not been as productive does it?
