When you register with a band it means that you can play at contests etc as
a third section player (or whatever section).

At certain contests it is still possible to play with other bands but on a
loan basis for that contest. Usually you can only play with bands of a
higher level.

Once registered with a band you are only allowed to make 2 transfers in any
12 month period (I think) and you can't go back to any band within 12
months.

If you are playing with an unregistered band you may want to check how this
will effect them. Should you do a contest with them you may be unable to
play as you are a registered player with another band.

Will you be playing with the 3rd section band for the area contest? This is
a contest where no band can borrow players, all players have to be
registered members of the band.

I play with Oughtibridge Band near Sheffield and we are looking to play a
Contest in the region soon after the National Area on 28 feb 99.

We have information on one in Thameside late March, and one at Huddersfield
Town Hall - could you let me have information on the Slow Melody one in
Huddersfield in May?

Hi Hilary, you made a good choice going to the 3rd Section - 4th is only
Indian Summer....( only ??).....it's all relative.
