I remember Ratby band,

my conductor (then with Snibston and Desford), Kevin (Sid) Steward was also
conducting Ratby.

I think they were in ascendancy as the sun set on poor old Desford "B"
(unfortunately soon after they came "this" close to qualifying for the
Nationals in Championship section).

Sid still there? (Or have the bright lights of one second's fame in Brassed
Off got to him?)
