Re: Wooden & Plastic rimmed mouthpieces

We have just developed a new style of mouthpiece "TiBaReed" (reinventing the
wheel) and are using clear powder coating over brass. After playing one for
three months, the effect on the lips is that it is very smooth to the feel
and from playing in +35C it does not get over warm - it's not winter yet so
I don't know about the cold. It is supposed to be chemically neutral so no
allergic reactions. In the severe heat we have detected minor cracks or
fracture lines but feel these are due to too thick a coating so the next
test will be a thinner coat. Cost about $7Aus. per mouthpiece.
