SECOND INTERNATIONAL BASBWE/RNCM WIND BAND CONFERENCE & BOOSEY & HAWKES
NATIONAL CONCERT BAND FESTIVAL

26 - 28 March 1999 at the Royal Northern College of Music, Manchester

I thought that I should let the list know about the event above, which,
although not strictly brass band related has plenty to interest the brass
player and is really not to be missed. The event combines a conference,
classes, concerts etc and a festival, the wind band equivalent of the
national finals. Well-known names taking part include.

Steven Mead, Patrick Sheridan, Jacques Mauger, James Gourlay, Allen
Vizzutti, Robert Childs, Andrew Berryman.

Although the band I play in did not get an invitation to the finals we are
playing a concert on the Saturday morning, including a performance of a
concerto for wind band and euphonium. Could be a good chance to meet some of
the list members.

PS BASBWE? The British Association of Symphonic Bands and Wind Ensembles.
