Re: European test piece

Hi Edy
I know the piece reasonably well and have the new score which has been ad
ded
to and amended from the original. It is a very 'lightweight' piece, not a
t
all technically demanding in comparison with the vast majority of modern
test pieces but is a listenable piece which the audience should enjoy. I
find it a surprising choice as the policy has been to have a new composit
ion
from the host country. In terms of making up the ground on the own choice
,
we had to submit our choices before we were told anything about the set
test. In fact there has been very little information coming from the EBBA
and we were promised the piece on the 1st Feb. We were not told what it w
as
to be, who composed it or any info at all. I actually found out from the
British Bandsman. The music arrived unannounced on 25th Feb. The cost of
the
test piece is also astounding - =A385 for the full set.

In my opinion the organisation so far has been very disappointing and the
publicity and availablility of tickets also. I have a suspicion that this
fantastic hall in Munich is going to be half empty. Why is there no UK
agency selling the tickets? My father has been trying to get info on hote
ls
and tickets without success - now published in the bandsman at least.

I hope that I am wrong but this doesn't look like being a classic Europea
n
at the moment.
Jeremy
