I have played a Getzen since 1973. They are a beautifully free blowing cornet with great valves and a medium/large bore, slightly smaller than the Sov. The gauge of the metal is rather thin but adds to the vibrancy of the instrument. The tuning is not as good as a sovereign and the f's (top line) and g's are very sharp. Top a's are also very splittable. I like their sound very much but a deep cup mouthpiece is needed to take off the edge - I use a Wick 2 - otherwise they can cut sheet metal.
