RE: Besson Versus Bach

Hi Alistair

I have played a Sovereign for years and about 2 years ago I had the
opportunity to play the Maestro which I played for 9 months. I found that on
the plus side the valve action was very good
and flexibility e.g.. lip trills etc. were easier but on the down side I
found my sound wasn't as warm and found great restriction when blowing f or
ff., it wouldn't let you blow out. I have now reverted back to a Sovereign
928GS large bore because of the much better tone and warmth.
I have had a go on a Bach and find they are good for high notes but they are
very bright, too bright for me anyway. In my opinion you have to go for
sound rather than ease.

hope I was some help
