-----Original Message----- From: Richards ,Mr Alistair <a.richards@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx> To: 'brass-band@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx' <brass-band@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> Date: 16 March 1999 09:36 Subject: FW: Grimethorpe World Tour High Wycombe! >Brass becoming popular? In the South of England? What, with our >reputation???? > >Alistair On the same weekend as Grimethorpe's gig in High Wycombe, there is also a major fest going on in London at the RAM. Two cheers for BBW magazine for bringing it to our attention, I suppose, although it was rather short on detail. Investigation reveals that the personnel reads like a who's who of brass - Dyke, ISB, Roger Webster, Steven Mead, Pat Sheridan, John Wallace, LSO Brass, The Wallace Collection, Sheona White, Bob Childs and so on... And the music includes Vinter's The Trumpets, premieres of music by Harrison Birtwistle and Peter Maxwell Davies, performances on period instruments, master classes, music theatre etc etc. What have we done to deserve it?!
