The Maredi Projects, run by one Bishop Maredi, and of which the Yellow Caps are a part, are looking for assistance in getting instruments to equip the Y.C Brass Band. We have none at present, and we are open to all reasonable suggestions to help us get even one instrument. Really, we require a full set of band instruments, but we need just to start somewhere at the moment. I have approached the local and international air-lines to get shipping sponsorship should overseas donors materialise. These young men, these Yellow Caps have come from a devastating background on the edges of South African society, where crime has been up until recently, a constant shadow in their lives. They have a chance to succeed. With this chance in mind, I hope to reach as wide a cross-section of brass band people not only in the UK but elsewhere too, through a List such as yours, Nigel, and I want to thank you for your willingness to open the list to my appeal. I am willing to furnish you with our Fund-Raising Number, should you, or anyone want to verify our bona fides. If there are individuals or organisations who or that would like to be involved but who do not have instruments to donate or in lieu of them , a financial donation to contribute, they are more than welcome to contact me anyway.
