They just can't get enough of a good thing!!! The organizers of the Nova Scotia International Tattoo, held annually in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, have invited the Woods Manufacturing Company (Ottawa) Limited Brass Band (Woods Brass) back for a second consecutive appearance, and our third appearance overall. We need players! Every instrument, and percussion. The more the better. We had 58 last year for most performances thanks to the support from the international brass band community. (UK, USA, Canada.) An absolutely astounding sound -- other musicians said we were the loudest, and the best. It would be great fun to have participants from Norway, Holland, Belgium, Germany, Oz, ... everyone! If you are interested, contact the band manager, Janice Larose, at larosej@xxxxxxxxxxx or me at hal@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx or both! Details: Total duration: 14 days, from Thursday June 24 through Wednesday July 7 Rehearse: Jun 24 - June 30 Perform: July 1 - July 7 Accommodation: Free for participants. University residence grade, i.e., comfortable, though spartan, furnishings. Each unit has a kitchen and utensils can be borrowed free. Laundry available. Health and fitness centre nearby for small additional cost. Great jogging paths - city and park. Family members can be accomodated for a small additional cost, around $25.00 Canadian each, I think. (To be confirmed) Expenses: Meal tickets provided, for use in selected restaurants (several really good ones, including great vegetarian and Indian venues. Last year we were able to use the tickets in the local supermarket, a boon to those who like to make home-cooked meals or buy take-out meals cheaper than the restaurants. Travel arrangements to be announced when they are confirmed. I expect travel will be provided free from Ottawa to Halifax, other arrangements at personal option. Everything else is personal expense. Free time: Performances are in the evenings, so you have all day available for sight-seeing. Most attractions are anything from 20 minutes drive (Peggy's Cove lighthouse) to one or two hours. Consider taking another few days and "do the maritimes". ...Hal (EEb bass, Woods Brass) -- unsubscribe or receive the list in digest form, mail a message of 'help' to
