Hi All, I would like to , on behalf of the G.U.S band, thank everybody that has e-mailed me privately with both sponsorship and ideas for fund raising to keep the band going. Following these messages there are a couple of ideas that we would like to follow up:- * It was suggested to me in one e-mail that some of the 'star' soloists in the brass band movement may be willing to donate their services free of charge to the G.U.S band for a 'one-off' concert. It was suggested that this could be either as soloists or as part of an 'all-star' brass band to perform alongside G.U.S in a celebrity concert. I know that many of the 'celebrities' subscribe to this list having seen their names on postings. Whilst realising that they make a profession out of their playing, if anyone feels that they could donate their services for one night all of us at G.U.S would be more than grateful. * Various soloists from the G.U.S band have agreed to offer their services as guest soloists to other bands for a minimal cost. This cost would be a donation to the G.U.S band of an amount at the hosting band's discretion. If anybody out there on the list feels that they would like to take us up on either of the above please feel free to e-mail me privately either at my work (Rob.Norman@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx) or at home (Robin@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx <mailto:Robin@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> ) and I will be only too happy to give you more information. Also, if anybody else has any ideas for fund-raising please feel free also to let me know. On behalf of the G.U.S band I would like to thank you all for your assistance. As another list member wrote, it would be a shame to see another top class band fold due to lack of sponsorship. Because of the band's commitment and financial assistance this is not going to happen and the name of 'GUS' is still going strong which, hopefully, will be shown at the Masters in May. With Thanks, Robin Norman (Eb Bass - G.U.S) P.S:- If anybody in the Eastern region is interested the band is actually to be shown on "Look East" regarding the 24-hour sponsored play tomorrow evening (Thursday 1/4) at 6.30pm. -- unsubscribe or receive the list in digest form, mail a message of 'help' to
