Hi, my name is Richard Douglas (22) I've been on the list for a few days 
now and thought it was about time that I introduced myself, so here goes:

I've been playing the trumpet for almost 12 years now and the cornet for 
around 9 months. I was a product of the Northamptonshire Music Service 
(anybody read the Education article in last weeks BRITISH BANDSMAN?) where 
I played in everything from brass quintets to full sized symphonic 
orchestras.

I currently play in the following groups
Northampton Symphony Orchestra
Northampton Chamber Orchestra
Northampton Concert Band
Northampton Symphonic Winds
and
Moulton 77 Brass Band, with whom I recently played in my first ever brass 
band contest which was the regionals at Nottingham where we won the 2nd 
section !!!

On a different note has anybody tried the new range of instruments from 
Stomvi? I was told that they're supposed to be in a different class to the 
Sovereign is it true? - Hope I haven't started the old chestnut of what 
everybody plays on. Afterall it's not what you've got, it's what you do 
with it that counts :-)
