Hi Greg,

Unfortunately no band will be representing the Republic of Ireland this
year, I don't know about Northern Ireland.

Arklow Silver were entitled to a spot but they decided it was too expensive
to travel to Munich after travelling to the Netherlands last year.

Drogheda won the Championship Brass section in Dublin this year, so they
hopefully will represent Ireland in Birmingham.  It will probably will be
financially feasible for them to make the journey across the Irish sea.

Costly stuff, travelling to the Europeans, I should know, I was secretary of
the Loch Garman Band (the first band from the Republic to venture into the
Europeans, and the best result so far too - 2nd), when we went to the
Barbican in London in 1997 and the costs do mount up.

Best of luck to B&R in Munich anyhow.
