Hi Larry: No, unfortunately I wasn't able to go here the ISB in Washington this weekend. The NYSB was away in Columbus, Ohio this weekend and did a combined concert with the Brass Band of Columbus on Saturday night. Their big item was "Isaiah 40" (getting ready for the NABBA contest this weekend) and ours was Kevin Norbury's "Variations on Maccabeus". We combined to play 4 items, including "Gaudete" and "Elsa's Procession to the Cathedral". I'm sorry that I had to miss the ISB, but at least this type of schedule conflict was somewhat bearable. Some friends from Montclair went down there this weekend, but I haven't talked to them as yet about the concert. Stephanie Wilson is getting to hear them tonight down in Winston-Salem, NC. Stephanie, could we get a full report ASAP? Actually, some people who came to our concert in Columbus on Saturday night had gone to hear the ISB in Charleston, West Virginia the night before - about 3-4 hours away (they said that the ISB were terrific).
