Well, I know we shouldn't believe everything we read in the newspapers, but have
a look at www.the-times.co.uk - you may need to register - search out the back
issue for March 22nd, look down the index for that day, and you'll find the
story. It's written with a bit of an "ee-by-gum" slant, but seems basically
factual.

Perhaps we should ask for a clarification on this. As one of the other members
on
the list stated, I also remember seeing a post that stated that it was just Mr &
Mrs
James Watson who were invited, not the whole band.
Frankly, I find it difficult to believe that the Oscars would go to the Great
expense of inviting the Black Dyke Band as a complete unit on such short notice
where there would not appear to be time to shop for discount rates etc on the
flights.
