Absolutely my final posting on this

And by the time I came through the band a few years later, it was nearly 50
percent girls. Only the basses didn't have a female representative! Well
done that Mum!

Er... Allan, if the stories are true (I'm sure they are - no-one could
invent the things I heard!) then if it's just dirty jokes and the odd
expletive then things are much improved in these men-only bands (not
singling any particular one out, that wouldn't be prudent). I would fear
for the personal safety of a lone women on one of their coaches...

Not in our band, matey. My mate went into labour at half time and was back
at the next rehearsal. In any case, it's not as if you are getting taken by
surprise, like you are when a stroppy bloke leaves in a huff!

And as a last blast on this subject, all Monkey's recent mournful rebuttals
are just coming over as an attempt to make him sound the reasonable one, and
all those expressing perfectly reasonable outrage sound as if the problem's
theirs!

Anyone who now wants the last word - you're welcome to it.

Judith.
