Hi Mary Ellen,
We had this problem in St. Louis when we started. We found that Dennis Wick
tenor trombone mutes fit perfectly and do not alter the pitch of the tenor
horn. We also use Besson Sovereigns. The mutes are available from the
Brasswind in South Bend, Indiana. 1-800-348-5003. Catalog # is DW 5505, cost
$43.50.
