Fellow listees, For years now, I have been trying to trace a piece that I had partially recorded off the radio for Brass Quintet. That was all the information I had - not good. Somehow I discovered that the performance was was by the Melbourne Brass Ensemble and after chasing up their entire discography, I discovered that the piece was "Golyardes Grounde" by Malcolm Forsythe (1972). Next problem, who is this guy? I have looked in Oxford Guide to Music, and Australian Music (just in case) and the Cambridge Guide to 20thC Music with no luck. Encyclopaedia Brittanica is no good and an exhaustive search of the Internet brought up little information apart from a Symphony No. 2 performed by the Thunder Bay Symphony Orchestra (in Minnesota?). Any information on him or where I could get a score of this piece would be most helpful. It's a lovely little thing, reminiscent of a 20thC Pachelbel's Canon and quite difficult. thanks Rolf Miezitis ********************************************************************** This email and any files transmitted with it are confidential and intended solely for the use of the individual or entity to whom they are addressed.
