The Victorian Band Championships were held on Sunday 13 June
at Her Majesty's Theatre, Ballarat.  'A' grade was
adjudicated by Capt. A. Davey (Army Band Melbourne).  The
test was Contest Music (Wilfred Heaton).  In addition each
band was required to play a concert programe
(non-championship for which there were separate prizes)
comprising a hymn, march and concert item.  The results were
as follows:

1st  Kew   87 test; 44 march; 44 hymn; 44 concert item
(total for concert program 132)
2nd  Brunswick  81 test; 44 march; 42 hymn; 43 concert item

3rd  Darebin  80 test; 41 march; 40 hymn; 40 concert item ("
121)

Dandenong won 'B' grade.  Advent Brass won 'C' grade.
