Hello Clair

I just visited your page which I found very interesting.

Just a point, correct me if I'm wrong and I'm sure David Hirst will, but
isn't the whit friday's something to do with a religious festival
(whitsuntide)??. I don't think cricket was involved, maybe it is today but,
it apparently all started off as church parades, each church had a parade
led by a band, and it developed from there.

If in doubt ask David Hirst( B&R), he's an expert in all things history etc
