Can anyone please advise of any duet music published for two Bb instruments suitable for playing to audiences ? I have "Tunes for Two" (Tambling), and "Two's Company (Bram Wiggins) and other books by Voxman, etc, but hardly anything of much interest to an audience. With so many young brass players these days it is puzzling that no arranger seems to be interested in this market. There are some nice arrangements in the "World,s Favourite Series" (1962) with La Paloma, O Solo Mio and others, but I think this is now out of print. My pal and I are former bandsmen who started playing as kids over 50 years ago; now with more time on our hands we are "blowing" again (after 25 years rest) with a cornet and flugel and although we could do with another 22 players have so far this year given four little "concerts" for an old folks' home and club for the handicapped. They like to sing along with the old tunes, but there is nothing like this published and I have no idea how to write a harmony line. John McLoughlin wrote recently about "The Easy Way". I think Bram Gay was writing about this method way back just after the last war (when he was with Foden's). I tried stringing my instrument from the ceiling but just finished bashing my eye ! Incidentally what has happened to all the great players from the '70s ? The guys who took part in the "Granada Band of the Year" etc. Thanks. Dave Williams. --
