Carol, Carol, Carol, where have you been hiding all these years?  I wondered
why I've never seen you entered in the Tenor Horn section.  I just figured
you don't do solos.

The VBL (Victorian Bands League) Solo and Party competition have been going
on ever since I can remember, usually in May but this year July.  I've
competed in the open eupho class for the last 14 years now so they aren't
something new.

I've always understood it to be the state championships for solos and duets
etc.  I hope so cos the year I won I told both me mates I was state champion
and I'll look pretty stupid if I have to retract that.

I know Ballarat is the official state championship for bands but I didn't
think it was for the solos (someone correct me if I'm wrong).
