Hiya

Thanks to the guys and gals from University of Warwick Band for an
excellent concert (even though the surroundings were far from ideal!) Hope
you got the percussion sorted for the main concert, and sorry that I
couldn't make it, but as I explained I was instructing on a First Aid
course that I couldn't get out of :((  Also I'm sorry that the lot from Pz
were very unco-operative ... perhaps you shouldn't have mentioned my name
;-)

Anyhow - to my title ...... well listing to Warwick Band made me realise
exactly how much I was missing playing.  Talk about co-incidences ..... on
my way home I got a call to my mobile (pose, pose!!!!) from the conductor
of the village band I used to play for about 5 years ago, begging me to
help them out.  I agreed to do it, and now I'm playing 3rd down on front
row cornet ..... it is a long time since I played one, but 'tis like riding
a bike really - a quick practise and I was playing as badly as ever
before!!!

Thanks to all on the list who have supported my 'desperation' at being
kicked out of the old band ..... and now, although I'm not in a contesting
band and whose standard is probably below 4th section - I am wanted and
made to feel like royalty almost (I got my first drink brought for me :))))
- long may it continue ;-)
