It is sad that bands who have earned their place at the finals through
proficiency in performance should lose it through deficiency in
administration! Of course I understand the need to adhere to the rules,
particularly after the problems of last year with disqualifications etc.
However we must surely be in the business of encouraging bands to enter
contests, not discouraging them, and perhaps a phone call to each
secretary would have eased the situation?
