Jim,
Good to hear you again.
I understand that repiano is like a third chair 'solo' cornet. Someone once
explained to me that the repiano is the third strongest cornet player after the
principal and second chair cornet player.
In the Salvation Army we have Solo, First and Second Cornet parts. I take it to
mean the repiano is like our First Cornet part.
That is the way it was explaine to me in any event. Someone else might be able to
clarify it better than me however.
