Someone asked, my reply got diverted by my own doziness and is now reposted: > > Could someone please help me out? I am wondering what the term "Repiano > > Cornet" means. LOL However, it's more likely to be a (mis-spelt) deriviation of the Baroque "ripieno" - meaning the tutti group (as apposed to 'concertino' or solo group). It seems likely that what we now call repiano cornet was first ripieno cornet - with the 2nds and 3rds being 2nd and 3rd ripieno cornets.
