Howard Snell's arrangement of "Procession to the Minster" has 12 bars (I
think) of sustained pedal Bb (Ab concert, 6 leger lines and a space down,
according to my calculations :-)). IIRC, it's actually the dominant note of
the chord, and doesn't sound right at all if you take it up an octave.
I'm hoping we get the chance to play it again sometime, as I think my oppo
and I might just about manage it (with a bit of practice!).
