Pedals:'Where it matters

A lot of talk at the moment about the use of pedals in
various pieces.
I can always remember playing the last note of the
Second Mov't of 'Seascapes', a relatively low Pedal F
on a pause note sustained with the use of the Double
Pedal another octave below (care of Dean Morley).
Now some people may say that the note in question is
just a rumble awaiting to be born, but played in the
right context at the right time at obviously the right
dynamic, it can produce a different effect again and
again.
Not many people in the world of banding can fulfil
this range of low register playing.I think the word is
'Class'
