A lot of talk at the moment about the use of pedals in various pieces. I can always remember playing the last note of the Second Mov't of 'Seascapes', a relatively low Pedal F on a pause note sustained with the use of the Double Pedal another octave below (care of Dean Morley). Now some people may say that the note in question is just a rumble awaiting to be born, but played in the right context at the right time at obviously the right dynamic, it can produce a different effect again and again. Not many people in the world of banding can fulfil this range of low register playing.I think the word is 'Class' Lawrence Eccleston Shotley Bridge Co.Durham ==== --
