I would add "the heating" - we recorded in a school hall, which had good
acoustics and was well insulated from the outside world, noise-wise.
Unfortunately the inside world (i.e. the heating) was deafening when heard
through a microphone.  We had to switch it off and freeze (it was a chilly
British April) :-(
