David,

The Championship section test piece is Cloudcatcher Fells by John McCabe 
which IMHO is a wonderful piece of music - very descriptive and a gorgeous 
cornet part at the beginning.

Some of the bands taking part are:

Tredegar
BT
City Of Oxford
Kidlington
SWT Woodfalls
Staines
Staffordshire Building Soc.
Camborne Town
British Steel Teeside
Stalybridge Old

etc etc. There are a total of 21 bands (apparently) entering the section.
