A few tips from our recent recording experience:-

1. Know the music inside out before you get into the studio - it saves time 
and frustration on the day.

2. Have as much time available as possible, spread over a couple of days and 
split into sessions of reasonable length, with breaks between.

3. Make sure the conductor uses a metronome. While digital editing can do 
wonders, it is much easier, quicker and ultimately cheaper in editing time if 
tempos don't vary between takes.

4. Don't mike every percussion instrument individually, unless you have a lot 
of time and patience on your hands.
