Any one can hit Pedal C#! Practice practice practice. I don't mean
practicing hitting that note only. Start on c, third space. Play the C major
scale from that note down then up. Do that again! Now do B major scale down
then up, twice. So on and so forth, doing it chromatically until you get to
the bottom octave on C. You might not get all the low stuff straight away,
but do this consistently and you will. In NEW Bband music these days, you
need to play these notes "way down there". Get used to it, because they're
not going to go away.

I can play all that low stuff very clearly with a clean and open sound.
Sometimes! This sometimes is when I actually do some consistent practice,
which includes the exercise above. THis is on the band's 994 BBb tuba. If
you use a 993 BBb tuba, it will speak a lot easier. But regardless, just
keep practicing!
