----- Original Message ----- From: Lionel Walter <Pesonnally, I find that you mustn't take one of this medicine at every concert. But when you work very long and very hard for a contest or a concert, and you know your piece(s) very good it's even a pity to miss your production because you are frightened, and it isn't your fault. So at some occasion, I agree with the fact to take medicines. Lionel Walter I suffered nerves very badly towards my latter years on Sop (one of the reasons I gave it up) I actually asked my docter for advice and was prescribed a very powerfull drug ( the name of which escapes me) I toyed with the idea of trying it out but eventually binned the prescription. My view is if you can't do it under your own steam, don't do it. I was suprised to hear that many famous stage and screen actors have the same problems, most of whom benifit from "drug taking" ( I have actually used unprescribed drugs once only at an entertainments contest with devestating results, I was so relaxed that after walking on stage I forgot to take my mute and place it on the floor therefore playing the first line of a march with it still in , then when I got up to play my solo (cappriccio) I stumbled and knocked the stand over........great fun!) interesting topic seeya Mark Tarry - http://www.fortunecity.co.uk/madchester/disco/18/ Web Guardian of - The Nottingham City Transport Band - http://welcome.to/NCTBand and the Syston Brass Band - http://listen.to/systonband **************************************************************************** *************************************** --
