I've tried the Yamaha (hard sound but loud , no blend)
Schilke ( small sound , thin and stuffy in the upper register)
kanstul (much better than the above but a bit more work-has a richer sound
that
blends better with Bb Cornets better intonation)
Smith-Watkins the best I've ever tried but $$$. Still if you want the best.
tied it for only a short time but would ditch my Kanstul in a minute
if I could talk the band into a Smith-Watkins
If you go with the Schilke you will not have the best playing Eb but
it is a standard because it was less horrible than othe Ebs in times past
and many bands use it.
