I would just add one piece to the list. I remember, some years ago, playing 
a quite funny arrangement (by Alan Fernie, I think) of the Beatles melody 
"When I'm 64". I can't think of any other pieces that are worth trying. Too 
bad many bands are spending so much time and concerts on popmusic that 
should never been arranged for brass band at all.

The idea about a "must" list for brass band are good. My suggestion to a 
piece that are a must for all brass band (who are able to play it) are 
"Blenheim Flourishes". Any others?????
