I was recently asked to play at a rally for the No case for the recent
Australian Referendum on whether to become a republic  or not.
The MD (an ardent republican) decided to choose pieces like "When Johnny Comes
Marching Home " (for our Monarchist Prime Minister, John Howard), "Puttin on the
Ritz", but he drew the line at "Battle Hymn of the Republic"or even "North and
South".
